“Let it be this time,” she prayed, stepping into the dimly lit back room. After so many tries, she had maxed out her last credit card for this seance.

“It’s Mommy, can you hear me?” she called into the darkness.

“Yes,” came a distant whispered reply.

“I’ve tried for so long to contact you,” she stammered in a cold sweat.

“I was young, I neglected you. I’m so sorry,” she sobbed. “Can you forgive me, son?”

The table began to shake violently.

With terror, she felt icy hands creep around her throat and begin to squeeze.

“NEVER,” growled the reply.
